The Yarbo Multifunction Yard Work Robot

Yarbo, a company developing multi-purpose, autonomous yard cleaning robots, has announced the launch of the Yarbo Snow Blower S1. Yarbo started development of the autonomous snow blower in 2017 and went through five years of development ahead of the launch of the beta version in 2022. Following the beta, Yarbo raised $3.45 million on Kickstarter to fund the final version of the product.

The Yarbo is an autonomous, modular robotic system, capable of both snow blowing and lawn care by switching between different attachments. The robot drives on rubber tracks to take on most outdoor conditions. The Yarbo has an automatic driving system powered by RTK-GPS navigation, down to centimeter-level accuracy. Operators can create a cleaning plan in the Yarbo app, with multiple-zone management, to map out the robot’s cleaning area, and the app will help determine the most efficient route. A millimeter-wave radar, front real-time camera, and side cameras provide object detection to stop the robot from running into nearby pedestrians or obstacles.
