Think back to the biotech revolution of the mid-90s to now. Today, more than 90% of corn and soybean acres are planted to biotech crops, many of which are stacked with multiple biotech traits. It’s hard to believe the technology didn’t exist for farmers for most of the 20th century. As of press time, some new biotech products are in regulatory limbo and waiting to get into your hands. Learn the approval status for these products and any accompanying chemistries that might make a difference on your farm.
Dow AgroSciences: Enlist corn, soybeans and cotton. Pending Enlist technology allows farmers to spray Enlist Duo, 2,4-D choline and glyphosate with Colex-D technology (for drift and volatility reduction) over corn, soybeans and cotton. Currently, Enlist Duo is approved for over-the-top use in corn and soybeans in 15 states and awaiting 18 more state labels. It’s awaiting approvals in 33 states for over-the-top use in cotton.
