Kubota Corporation said Friday that it plans to buy Great Plains Manufacturing Inc., of Salina, Kansas.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but once final, the purchase will include all five Great Plains divisions, including: Great Plains Ag, Land Pride, Great Plains International, Great Plains Trucking and Great Plains Acceptance Corporation. Founded in 1976, Great Plains manufactures a variety of specialty machinery, including seed placement equipment, nutrient applicators, mowers, and more.
The acquisition grew out of an ongoing partnership between Kubota and Great Plains’ Land Pride division, which manufactures grounds maintenance tools such as mowers and other dirt-working equipment.
Since 2007, Kubota has worked closely with Land Pride division to provide performance-matched implements to Kubota customers. “This acquisition aligns with our long-term strategic vision to continue our market expansion and provide high-quality products and comprehensive solutions for our customers,” said Masato Yoshikawa, president and CEO of Kubota Tractor Corp.
